ZeeRun exists because generic training plans kept injuring its founder. So he built the coach he wished he'd had.
Come started running like most of us do: download a plan, follow the plan, get faster. And it worked — right up until it didn't. A tight calf ignored for two weeks became a month off. A shin niggle "run through" became a season lost.
The plans never noticed. Every Monday the app served up the next workout with total confidence, whether his body was ready or not. The data it cared about was mileage. The data that mattered — pain, fatigue, sleep — lived nowhere in the plan.
"Every app I used was a brilliant historian and a terrible coach. It knew exactly what I'd done and had no opinion about what I should do next."
After one injury too many, Come started asking a different question. Not "what's my next workout?" but "what is my body ready for today?" — and realized no consumer app was built around answering it.
So he started with the simplest version: each morning, check in with your body. Tap where it hurts. Get an honest answer — run, modify, or stop — before you lace up. That daily verdict became the Niggle Room. The readiness score came from pairing it with sleep and heart-rate data. The return-to-run ladders came from learning, the hard way, that "ease back in" isn't a plan.
ZeeRun is built on three beliefs:
1. Pain is data. A niggle isn't weakness or an excuse — it's the earliest, most useful signal your body sends. Logging it beats ignoring it, every time.
2. Adaptation beats motivation. The runners who stay healthy for decades aren't the toughest; they're the ones who adjust. A plan that can't change is a plan that breaks you.
3. Honesty over hype. Sometimes the right call is a rest day, and an app that can't say "stop" isn't coaching — it's cheerleading. ZeeRun will tell you to rest, and tell you why.
ZeeRun launched in September 2026 and is still early — a small team, a growing community, and a long list of features shaped by real runners' feedback. If you've ever been injured by a plan that didn't listen, you're exactly who it's for.
Come still runs. These days, he mostly listens first.
